Graphic Design

Kim studied graphic design and interior design at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) while working at SSDG Interiors Inc. In her 15 years at SSDG, Kim supported the firm as an interior designer, graphic designer, marketing coordinator, and photographer. She expanded the services offered at SSDG to include environmental graphics, wayfinding, and signage. Beyond graphics services for interior projects, Kim further developed SSDG’s marketing strategy and designed their new corporate brand identity, aligning with a new office interior to ensure consistency in all branding points of contact. Drawing on her formal training in both interior and graphic design, Kim can visually communicate concepts with professional presentations and graphically enhanced plans and elevations. Her understanding of the built environment allows her to develop 2-dimensional graphics through the lens of a 3-dimensional design. Kim works to create a seamless integration of graphic elements and architectural spaces, resulting in a cohesive and engaging experience for the viewer through the design of signage and environmental branding.

Photography

Kim has been a professional photographer for nearly a decade, specializing in interior and architectural photography. She has worked with a variety of clients, including interior designers, architects, and contractors, to capture stunning images that showcase the beauty and functionality of a designed and built space including commercial offices, restaurants, hotels, and residential homes.

From her experience as an interior designer, Kim understands the important role that photography plays in representing the work of architects and designers. From photos to be used for award submissions to posts on social media, she understands the specific requirements for various marketing uses. Using her knowledge of light, composition, and perspective, she captures images that are both striking and emotive. Whether shooting a residential living room or a commercial office, Kim's images are always visually stunning and full of life.
